This project is designed for school leaders and classroom teachers to investigate research and models of contemporary/personalised learning. To visualise what Contemporary/Personalising Learning could look like in their school context and develop an action learning project which seeks to address and develop Contemporary Learning for the 21st Century.
This two year action learning project consists of three phases which aims to:
PHASE 1: Envisioning - Enable leaders to clarify and visualise the learning and teaching aspirations (vision) of the Catholic school. During this phase participants will be given opportunities
To inquire into local, national and international research and perspectives on contemporary learning and the role of personalising learning.
To develop understandings about contemporary learners and their learning.
To make connections with their school’s Vision and contemporary pedagogies.
To explore exemplar schools (online and through personal visits) who are realising their vision of contemporary learning in different ways.
To reflect upon and refine the school’s vision for teaching and learning.
To reflect on the relationship between the school’s vision for contemporary learning and their current practice.
PHASE 2: Action Learning Project Design This phase will employ a backward in design process. This action learning aims to enable individual school’s:
To formulate an action learning inquiry question in relation to exploring and enacting their contemporary/personalising vision.
To plan, implement and monitor a school based action learning project. Teams will be assisted in this phase through school based visits by CEOM School Advisers, or participating critical friends.
